Sealed Concrete

This concrete job was different than most. It took a lot of additional work.

To make this old building usable for the restaurant, many trenches for plumbing had been cut through the good old concrete subfloor. When the plumbers filled these trenches back in they used a lightweight material that did not reach the top of the concrete. This material was not only a poor walk surface but left edges everywhere.

Trip hazards!

Our solution was to prep the brittle patching surface and lay sand with epoxy over to fill them in. We then honed and sealed the old concrete floor as usual before sealing our toughest coating over the entire surface. Turned out sharp looking and is very durable!

Once this restaurant opens and all of the flair is added I really don’t think the floors will be noticed much.

Sometimes that is the goal!
